Dinner Party Preparation
Something of a departure from the other episodes of Cooking with Angus, this lesson discovers the preparation necessary for a dinner party. Chef Angus walks Bruce and Tina Lockwood through the process of selecting ingredients and supplies.
On the shopping trip, the first stop is 20th Century Market, a local specialty butcher's shop. Chef Angus explains the importance of selecting the proper cuts of meat, as well as how to determine the quality of the product.
The next stop is Martha's Vineyard, a local specialty shop featuring a wide selection of wine, beer as well as a deli with meats, cheese and many other products. Wine selection is discussed, and Chef Angus picks a few vintages to accompany the meal, selecting them based on the region from which they originate. The group speaks with Charlie, the sommelier on hand and consults his expertise.
Then it's on to Kingma's Market, a local produce shop that Chef Angus favors. The selection of produce is explained, and the group picks up the ingredients they'll need for the dinner party that evening.
As the episode concludes, the group returns to the kitchen to begin preparing the Italian-themed meal.
