The Raiders, still without leading scorer Jillian Bowman, have depended on the three and today it did them no good, as they fell to the 1st place Jayhawks for the 2nd time this season. They made just 7 of 40 from 3 point range, while the Jayhawks (the much bigger team on the floor), used their inside game to an advantage and made layup after layup, or got fouled, and scored from the free throw line. Lenisha Williams made more free throws (14) than the Raiders shot free throws (13). With that all said, Kaylie Meyering's 3 sparked another huge GRCC comeback just like they did against LMC. She put the Raiders up 34-33 with 11:25 to go, capping off an 11-0 run, but back come the Jayhawks. They go on a 15-5 run, going up 48-41, but the Raiders weren't done yet. A 3 point play by Angie Lagrone brought the home team to within 2 (50-52) with 4 minutes left, but thats as close as they could get. The Raiders missed several shots and were forced to foul on the other end. Muskegon ended the game on a 13-1 run and would maintain first place in the conference.
