With just 7:17 into the 1st half, the visiting Raiders already had 10 turnovers, but hung onto a slim lead because of their great shooting. GRCC made 9 of their first 12 shots and were up 20-12 after a 3 by Jenna Hite, but Kirtland used the Raider turnovers and hung in the game. KCC's Whitney Bonham scored 15 of her game high 29 points in the 1st half, and her team trailled by just 9 going into the locker room. The Raiders had 16 more turnovers in the 2nd half, but shot 78% from the free throw line to help them overcome the Firebirds, especially down the stretch. They lead by as many as 18 (67-49) with less than 5 minutes to go, but Kirtland scored 10 straight to pull within 9 with 2:26 remaining. That's as close as they would get to spoiling a perfect road trip for the Raiders.
