Project 2000 Level 1

Description

The focus of this course is to teach students how to use the basic features and operations of MS Project to enter and keep track of their project details. This course meets Microsoft Proficiency Certification Guidelines.

Outcome Summary

Participant will be able to:

  • Identify the steps involved in project planning (NACFAM CT7, CT9, CT18, MM4, PC4, WS21, MF15, MF16)
  • Explore a project management case study
  • Create a new project
  • Change setup options
  • Create, move, copy, delete and set task duration.
  • Assign relationships and links to tasks
  • Create and assign resources and their work schedules to tasks
  • Assign costs to tasks and resources
  • Resolve time and resource conflicts
  • Effectively use different views, reports, and drawing tools available in MS Project
  • Sort and filter project information

Individuals who are involved with project management and planning, and want to learn how to use MS Project as a tool for managing and tracking project details.

Prerequisites

Students should have a good understanding of formal project management terminology, tools, and techniques, and a working background with Windows 95/98 or Windows NT.
