Word 2000 Level 1
Description
Students will learn how to create, edit, save, and print
documents, use character and paragraph formatting, and use fundamental
features of Word 2000. This course meets Microsoft Proficiency Certification
Guidelines.
Outcome Summary
Participant will be able to:
- Create and save a document, open an existing document, and use simple
editing techniques (NACFAM CU5, CT7, CT8, CT9)
- Navigate through a large document using the mouse and keyboard
- Use Words Help feature by accessing the Office Assistant and
using the Help menu
- Edit a document using more sophisticated techniques, including moving
and copying text
- Apply and remove text and paragraph formatting
- Set and work with tabs
- Create, edit, and format a table
- Control page appearance by adjusting margins, line spacing, justification,
page breaks, and paragraph spacing and indentions
- Create and edit headers, footers, and set page numbering
- Use Words proofing tools such as speller and grammar checker,
and thesaurus
- Create an envelope and mailing labels
- Save an existing document as a Web page and preview it in a browser

Individuals desiring to learn the basic features and
operations of word processing using MS Word 2000.

Prerequisites
Participants in this course should have working experience
with Windows 98, and understand basic concepts
in working with a personal computer. No prior experience or knowledge
of MS Word is assumed.
