Windows 98
Introduction
Description
This course is designed for individuals with little
or no experience in using Windows 98. Students will gain exposure to basic
computer hardware and software concepts, learn how to use necessary features
and operations of Windows 98. Attention is given to disk and file management.
Outcome Summary
Participant will be able to:
- Learn fundamental personal computing concepts and terminology (NACFAM
CT7, CT9, A requirement for all CU standards)
- Examine and identify components of the Windows 98 screen
- Learn mouse techniques to select desktop objects and menu items,
and work with open windows
- Learn how to get assistance by using the Windows Help feature
- View contents of folders using Windows Explorer and My Computer;
create desktop shortcuts to access software programs
- Locate files and folders in the hierarchy by using the Find command
- Use Windows Explorer to create and rename folders, copy and move
documents and folders
- Delete and restore document by using the Recycle Bin
- Use the Edit, Copy, and Paste commands between different Microsoft
applications.
- Create and delete desktop shortcuts
- Customize the appearance of the desktop by using the Control Panel
and setting desktop properties
