Project 2000 Level 2

Description

Students will learn advanced techniques for tracking and modifying a project that is in progress. This course meets the Microsoft Proficiency Guidelines for MS Project 2000 at the Expert level.

Outcome Summary

Participant will be able to:

  • Create a baseline plan (NACFAM CT7, CT9, CT18, MM4, PC4, WS21, MF15, MF16)
  • Track an active project and modify the environment for tracking
  • Enter data for completed tasks
  • Evaluate and regulate resource and cost factors (NACFAM BO2, BO3, BO16, QA3)
  • Adjust the schedule of future tasks
  • Set and display an interim plan
  • Adjust resource schedules
  • Customize resource reports
  • Work with different Project 2000 views
  • Create a macro and assign it to the toolbar
  • Import, export, and copy  data from other applications
  • Work with resource pools, subprojects, and master projects

Individuals who already possess a good working background with MS Project, and want to increase their knowledge, skill and productivity by learning advanced features and techniques

Prerequisites

Students enrolling in this course should have taken Microsoft Project Level 1 and be comfortable and proficient in using the basic features and operations of the software and project management planning principles.  They should also be familiar with project management terminology such as Gantt Chart, task, critical path, and resource.
