Manufacturing Principles

Description

Manufacturing Principles combines technical skill and interpersonal skills to create a highly interactive, continuous improvement learning environment. Participant teams identify continuous improvement opportunities and recommend practical solutions.

Outcome Summary

Participant will be able to:

  • Demonstrate effective communication (NACFAM CT1)
  • List primary elements of successful teamwork (NACFAM CT2)
  • Perform calculations using basic shop math (NACFAM MM1-3)
  • Take measurements using micrometers and calipers (NACFAM MM6)
  • List the steps in a problem solving process (NACFAM PS1-3)
  • Read blueprints (NACFAM BR1-16)
  • Identify the basic process in manufacturing (NACFAM MF11-12)
  • Explain business planning and operations (NACFAM BO1-19)
  • Explain the need for process control an improvement (NACFAM QA1-6, PC1-4)
  • Identify the elements of SPC charts (NACFAM QA7-12)
  • Demonstrate workplace skills (NACFAM WS1-7, WS13-21)
  • Apply learning skills (NACFAM WS19, LS1-5)

Recommendations

Management attends the entire 40-hour workshop or a summary review to fully understand the objectives of continuous improvement and suggestions made by participants.

Who Should Attend

Employees at all levels and job classification throughout the organization. Training may be delivered for pre- and post-employment applications.

Length

40 hours, typically 10, 4-hour sessions, but may be modified to meet employer needs.
