Managing Conflict

Description

A workshop focused on understanding and managing conflict in the workplace. Participants will practice skills which enable them to get to win-win solutions.

Outcome Summary

Participant will be able to:

  • Explain the value of conflict
  • Define personal building blocks - self-esteem, anger, trust
  • Explain the importance of listening in conflict management
  • Exhibit conflict management techniques
  • Use positive/negative feedback in conflict situations (NACFAM WS16)
  • Use non-defensive communication
  • Handle difficult people/relationships
  • Define coaching vs. mediation - building others’ capacity to handle their own conflict

Who Should Attend

Staff who are involved in a supervisory, management or team leader role and employees who are interested in improving their ability to manage conflict.
