Description

This workshop is an overview of the benefits of working in teams, the stages of team development, the use of team roles, team decision making and problem-solving. Identifying obstacles to team productivity, and how to overcome these potential roadblocks will also be covered.

Outcome Summary

Participant will be able to:

  • Identity benefits and pitfalls of working in teams (NACFAM CT1-5, 9-14)
  • Establish ground rules for teams
  • Define team roles - coach, leader, facilitator, recorder, member
  • Set team goals
  • List stages of team development - forming, norming, storming, producing, ending
  • Explain team decision making methods
  • Use team problem solving tools and techniques

Recommendation

Managing Conflict is recommended as a follow-up course.
