Legal & Effective Employment Terminations

Description

A workshop focused on the “human side” of terminating an employee: reducing legal risks, protecting the company’s reputation and competitive position, and minimizing the disruption to the workplace when an employee is terminated.

Outcome Summary

Participant will be able to:

  • List three types of termination
  • Define legal issues relaying to at-will employment, wrongful discharge and discrimination
  • Describe process of termination - contractual agreements, legitimate business reasons
  • Prepare the process of documentation, investigations, alternatives, and next steps
  • Perform termination meetings
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Complete a self evaluation checklist
