Quality Function Development

Description

The course introduces participants to the QFD product or service design or re-design process. Participants use the “House of Quality” format to identify features that sell products or services, how the organization can adapt to the market’s needs and the competition’s relative posture. Participants translate market requirements into organizational targets that pinpoint success. Finally, the “House of Quality” package is used to produce product/service planning documents, product design documents, process planning documents and quality planning documents. This course helps understand the QFD process and its inputs and practices.

Outcome Summary

Participant will be able to:

  • Conduct a QFD project
  • Produce a limited “House of Quality” using a provided product design narrative
  • Produce a “House of Quality” using provided product design data, and current personal computer applications software (QS 9000 4.4.2.1)
