Making the Visual Text Box Editor Unavailable
Blackboard now has a toolbar that appears above the text box (e.g. adding content or discussion board posts). Here's an example of what it looks like:

While this adds a lot of features, some users may have reasons for turning it off. For example, loading the toolbar can slow things down and cause conflicts with some browsers. Follow these steps to turn it off (or in Blackboard language "make the visual text box editor unavailable"):
Step 1: Click on the "My Bb" tab and then the "Edit Personal Information link (see below).

Step 2: Click the "Set Visual Text Box Editor Options" link (see below).

Step 3: Make sure "Unavailable" is selected and click on the "Submit" button (see below).

Now, you will be able to make posts in Blackboard without seeing the toolbar. Additionally, you'll be able to right-click with your mouse and use the copy/paste functions in the text box (see below).
